Nuclear Technology Societies

In order to meet the increasing need for electric power and the promotion of nuclear science, technology, and engineering in India, the Indian Nuclear Society was formed in 1988. The Society sought to facilitate the integration of various scientific and engineering disciplines related to the atomic structure of matter and other associated sciences and arts.

To meet these goals, the Society sought to encourage research and funding in nuclear science and to establish scholarships, awards, and research funding and grants to encourage and support education and innovation.

The Society organized and held meetings to provide a forum for the discussion and presentation of posters, papers, and live sessions to address important new technological developments. The Society also fostered the sharing of research results through print media including books and scientific journals.

The Society played a crucial role in combining efforts with other organization with common goals in providing for the present and future needs of a growing economy in India. Such groups include universities and other educational institutions and organizations as well as Indian government agencies.

This site commemorates the previous home for the Indian Nuclear Society (INS) which is now located at http:// www.ins-india.org/.
